Lijiang prefecture lies in the northwest of Yunnan Province with a total area of 20,600 square kilometers. It is great to enjoy a quiet and pleasant holiday in Lijiang Old Town which is graced by well preserved ancient buildings and the Naxi culture.

Located in the plateau area of Yunnan, Lijiang boasts itself of the temperature differences. You may be get confused by the temperature difference in one day, because you may see the hailstone in the morning which is so chilly that you have to put on sweaters. However, half an hour later, after the sun rises, and you have to wear the T-shirt again. If lucky enough, you can experience climates of four seasons in one day.

Lijiang can be a quiet poem in your heart. It turns moments into long lasting, turns the future into the past days. No matter you are rambling, trotting or napping in this ancient town, you are likely to see your fleeting youth and fall in love with it. People always see one is supposed to lose yourself both you and your heart.

How to get there:

Flights:

There are many flights to Lijiang, mainly from Kunming, Chengdu and Chongqing, but also flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou

Train:

There are daily services to Dali and Kunming. A ticket booking office is located on the north side of the road several hundred metres west of the bus station. The train station is an impressive structure about 7km south of Lijiang old town.

Bus:

The bus station is located south of the old city. Regular services to/from Shangrila and overnight service from Kunming stop here. You can take the bus 8 in front of the bus station to the old town or take a taxi.
