Recommended spots for Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, has had a history of more than 2,000 years. It is usually in June in the Gregorian calendar. The Dragon Boat Festival (from June 22 to 24) is coming tomorrow. What's your plan for it? Do you want to find some beautiful ruralities near the urban areas? Do you want to get each of your nerves relaxed?
Baoshan City
If you come to Baoshan City in the Dragon Boat Festival, you may enjoy the local Duanyang Flower Fair which is a very famous ritual in Yunnan. On that day, the aged people are often complimented with beautiful flowers. They also express their love to this festival by flowers.
People usually go hiking, make Zongzi (sticky rice wrap), go shopping in the flower fair and visit relatives to celebrate this festival.
Pu'er City
People eat roots of some herbs in addition to Zongzi during the festival. They can buy a variety of fresh herbs on the fair, such as polygonum multiflorumand Chinese angelica. People also display portraits of evil's nemesis, Chung Kuei and hang branches of moxa and calamus around the doors of their homes. Adults drink Xiong Huang Wine, which can fend off evil spirits.
Gasa Town
The Red River running at the heart of Ailao Mountain in Yunnan nourishes people living on both banks. The lingering charm of life and the rhythm of the journey are likely to change with the flowing river. You will be overwhelmed by the valleys, the spoondrifts in the Red River as well as the striking dances of girls of Huayao Dai (Flower Waist Belt Dai).
Huayao Dai are Dai ethnic people living on the east of Ailao Mountain and upstream of Red River, mainly in Xingping County and Yuanjiang County. Most Huayao Dai live in Mosha Town, Gasa Town, Yaojie Town and Shuitang Town.
The night life here is rich. Stone-made walls, floors, tables and chairs, you will experience the mysterious bars and pubs here.
