Tourism guide for Mangshi and Tengchong

Mangshi City is the capital of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. It is said that Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, passed here before dawn, so it was called Mangshi which means the dawn in Dai language. Thus, Mangshi City is also enjoying a good reputation of "the city of dawn".

Visitors can see some rare old threes here, as well as some peacocks wandering. They are not easy to get frightened by tourists.

During summer time, the day usually gets dark after half past seven in the evening. Walking in the city, visitors can see the Menghuan Golden Pagoda on the mountain, shining under the sunset. It is a landmark in Mangshi City, locating on Leiyarang Mountain with an elevation of 1079.6 meters. Visitors are required to take off their shoes when entering the pagoda.

You can arrive in Tengchong County after three hours riding from Mangshi City. Heshun Town is a must-go place there. You can see a clear brook running across the town, villagers wash clothes on the stones, children play under the tree.

Volcanic clusters are attractive. The natural temperature of the Hot Sea hot spring is about 97℃. Locals can boil eggs and potatoes in the spring.

The direct flight from Beijing to Mangshi City coasts four hours.

It takes about three hours to drive from Mangshi to Tengchong .

It takes about three hours to drive from Tengchong to Ruili.
