Located in southeastern Yunnan, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture connects Vietnam on the south. The Bamei Village in Wenshan has become a miniature of a fictitious land of peace. However, as to the inconvenient traffic, people can not see the beauty hided completely. As tourism gets gradually flourishing here, it is not hard to visit Wenshan today.

Ethnic groups including Zhuang, Miao, Miao and Yi have lived here for generations. Visitors can join in the locals' ethnic featured festivals all the year round, as there are so many celebrations. 　

Puzhehei

Location: 13 km north of the downtown in Qiubei County

As a scenic area with several small-sized ethnic villages, Puzhehei is endowed with 50 lakes, 300 isolated peaks, 80 karst holes and over ten thousand mu of lotus flowers. In the local Yi people's language, Puzhehei means a pond abundant with fish and shrimp.

A mainly travel method in Puzhehei is paddling canoes which can contain 3 people one time.

More attractions:

Qinglong Mountain with three opened karst holes, Torch Hole, Moon Hole and Godness Guanyin Hole.

How to get there:

Tourists can take two flights to Yanshan County in Wenshan from Kunming, capital of Yunnan province. A bus in Qiubei County is usually one yuan. The flag down fare of a taxi is 4 yaun covering a distance of 3 kilometer.

Babao Town

Babao Town enjoys a good reputation of the miniature of Guilin in Yunnan. Hills with onion domes or pointed peaks, stand in the lake. Rice fields and beautiful Zhuang people's villages make the village well-known as the Babaorice used as imperial tribute was cultivated here. Heye village, 10 km from the Babao Town, is the first village situated on the upstream of Babao River. Therefore, it is often the departure of canoe drifting, which usually takes about 2 hours.

Tips: visitors have to take a bus to Heye Village from Babao Town if they want to drift on Babao River. Since no regular buses are dispatched there, it is suggested to rent a car there.

Sanla Waterfall

Location: Sanla Village, 12 kilometers from the east pf Babao Town

The Babao River falls down from the 10-meter-high cliff whose difference is about 129 meters from the ground.
