Yunnan, "kingdom of fruits" on plateau

Tropical areas of Yunnan province were regarded as "the Land of the malaria" in the past, but by adopting first-class scientific technologies, the areas are exploited to be industrial clusters developing featured agriculture.
Yunnan with special geographical location and decent weather conditions is suitable for planting varieties of fruits. As the third biggest tropical region in China, Yunnan mainly cultivates bananas in counties of Jinping(金平),Jinghong(景洪),Mengla(勐腊),Yuanyang(元阳),Hekou(河口),plants wine grapes in counties of Mile(弥勒),Mengzi(蒙自),and grows lemons in cities of Mangshi(芒市), Ruili(瑞丽), waxberries in Shiping(石屏) county, loquats in Longchuan(陇川) county and dragon fruits in Yuanjiang(元江) county.
