[InKunming--Kunming]  Torch Festival, one of the most popular festivals in Yunnan, is going to be kicked off at June 24th of lunar calendar. This year, the festival will fall on weekends.

How to celebrate Torch festival? InKunming summarized some places around Kunming for you to first-hand experience the festival.

Shilin County (石林)

Date: starting from August 8th

Shilin County has arranged several interesting activities during Torch Festival, including a Yunnan folk song vocal music competition, "Autumn of Bajiang(巴江之秋)" stage performance, wedding show of Sani nationality(撒尼族) and Sani Opera, etc..

Highlight of that day should be the bullfight competition. Competition will be held in Long Lake National Culture Sports Square and other places. Bulls from Shilin, Guizhou, Sichuan and Luxi(泸西), Mile(弥勒) are down for the competition.

Besides, exhibition and experience activity for 4 national intangible cultural heritages, many other activities will also be held in Shilin during the festival.

2nd torch in Luquan(禄劝)

Date: from August 7th to 9th

Opening ceremony with national singing and dancing performance is planned to be held at Luquan National Culture Square from 20:00 to 20:30 on August 7th. Bonfire party will be held from 20:30 to 24:00 at that night at4 places in the county, and bullfight competition will be held at Lvhuai Bullring(绿槐斗牛场) from 13:00 to 17:00 on August 8th.

Besides, a stockpot banquet will be held at Xiuping community(秀屏社区) from August 7th to 9th. Delicious beverages and foods can call be tasted there.

Another highlight is wild mushroom trading. During the 3 days, visitors can buy mushroom at Pingshan Street. Meanwhile, a characteristic commodity fair of Luquan Yi ethnic group's handcrafts will also be held at the county.

Yunnan Nationalities Village

Date: from August 1st to 9th

Torch Festival is a branded festival of Yunnan Nationalities Village. Every year, the village holds many characteristic activities to celebrate the festival. This year, Yunnan Nationalities Village is going to launch a bound of new activities.

From August 1st to 9th, ticket price for entrance is 60 yuan for one person at night and 90 yuan for each person in the day. Tickets can be booked on Ctrip and Qunaer 12 hours ahead.
