Kunming assigned artists to give performances in Malaysia
[InKunming--Kunming] From July 31 to August 3, representatives from Kunming National Song and Dance Theater on behalf of Kunming performed ethnic dances in Kuching South City, Malaysia.
During the representative' visiting period, Kuching South City held celebration activities for its 27th City Anniversary. Since 2005, Kunming and Kuching South City has started friendly exchanges.
In July, 2014, Kunming officially established sister city relationship with Kuching South City, Malaysia, after ratification of Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mayor of Kuching South City sent the city's invitation to Kunming at first. With the invitation, Kunming National Song and Dance Theater assigned artists to perform in Kuching South City.
Dances that have the most national characteristics of Yunnan Province were put on shown in Malaysia. Wonderful performance programs including Hani people's dance Clogs and Mountain Drums, Dai People's dance Red Snapper, Wa people's dance Wa People Living in the Sea of Clouds, Yi people's dance Flowing Stream, and Zang people's dance Shangri-La were shown in Kuching South City.
The visiting of Kunming delegation to Kuching South City helped promote communication and cooperation between the two cities.
