[InKunming--Yunnan]  China's meteorological authority recently said that rain and snow would fall in Yunnan Province's eastern and northwestern regions over the upcoming period of Spring Festival. Qujing City and Zhaotong City of the province will experience a freezing rain duirng the period. Expressways around the two cities will encounter foggy weather.

Especialy four roads in the province have dangerous ice risks within the period. The four roads are Kunming-Qujing Expressway(section from K2217KM in Panlong District to K2222KM), Yukun Expressway(section K560+800M located on Zhangyang District in Zhaotong), Yukun Expressway(section from K692+200M-K712+200M located on Huize County) and Dongchuan District Longdongge Highway(section from K66+300M to K76+430M).

Drivers who plan to drive on the roads should pay more attention to the risks during "chunyun" period this year, for chilly weather is easy to bring about traffic accidents.

It is predicted that 61.5 million people will make trips during this year's "chunyun" period in Yunnan, up 1.1 percent year-on-year. Especially during the Golden Week of Spring Festival, 11 million people are estimated to go on trips, up 5.1 percent year-on-year.

Huge traffic jams occur on many of the country's highways on holidays that exempted drivers of most cars from paying tolls across the country. Due to this policy, numbers of those who drive to visit relatives or travel will increase, up 9 to 12 percent in traffic flow of road network.
