He Mianren Purple Pottery Art Exhibition being held in Kunming

[InKunming--Kunming] He Mianren Jianshui Purple Pottery Art Exhibition is being held on the fifth floor of Wangfujin Mall and will lasts till 27th October.

The second phrase of this exhibition will take place in the experience base of Shicui Folk Arts in Grand Park of Yunnan Ethnic Group from 28th October.

More than 50 pieces of paintings, calligraphy works and purple potteries of He Mianren are displayed on the exhibition.

He Mianren, known as "Purple Pottery Master", is especially good at drawing pictures on purple pottery and sculpturing purple pottery.

Most of He Mianren's works are about sceneries and animals of his hometown, Jianshui, where purple pottery originated.

A lot of his works are themed on peacock, for peacock is not only a common bird in Yunnan but also a symbol of beauty and luck.

He Mianren's works receive high praises. For example, he won the first prize of the 15th China Arts Master and International Arts Expo in 2014 and the name of “Honghe Master”last year.

At the exhibition, He Mianren told journalists modestly that the number of works he is really satisfied with is less than ten.

He Mianren said that what he needs to do now is to keep creating wonderful cultural works, which echo the theme of this exhibition: knowing why you started and expressing inner feelings.

On the scene, He Mianren also showed audience specific procedures of making a purple pottery and did live painting demonstrations.
