[InKunming--Yunnan] Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited China-Myanmar border in Yunnan from February 16 to 18. He stressed the importance for maintaining stability of China-Myanmar border during the visit period.   

Wang Yi said that China-Myanmar border in Yunnan is an important bond for friendship between the two countries, also directly relates to the security and stability of China's southwest border area, and helps promote the cooperation process of "Belt and Road Initiative". 

Wang Yi emphasized that efforts should be made by Chinese people to realize long-term peace and stability in the China-Myanmar border area, to create a peaceful and friendly environment for the production and life of the border residents of the two countries, and vigorously promote the construction of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor and China-Myanmar Border Economic Cooperation Zone.

"We hope that we could promote prosperity and development of border areas in Yunnan, and bring benefits to China and Myanmar together , " Wang Yi summarized in the end when he met with Yunnan foreign affairs staff in the border.
