Running ostrich amid traffic spike back to Yunnan Wild Animal Park
You never know how animals in Kunming will surprise you? An ostrich has made a splash online by running at East Third Ring Road at about twelve o'clock on March 30, which astonished the pass-by car-drivers and citizens a lot.
The reporter knew from the Guandu Branch of Kunming Forest Public Security Bureau that they immediately went out to capture the ostrich with the help of animal experts after receiving report. They delivered the ostrich to Yunnan wildlife rescue center.
Coming to the Yunnan Wild Animal Park, the reporter saw the ostrich with black feathers and long neck, whose head was covered with a piece of red cloth.
Forest policeman explained that blindfolding the ostrich's eyes was to reduce its anxiety after rushing about 3 to 5 kilometers.
It is a male ostrich weighing about 100 kilograms. Forest police reckoned that he escaped either from breeding farm or transportation process. However, the real reason is under further investigation.
