Yunnan Pilot FTZ’s first batch of linkage innovation zones awarded
China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) held an awarding ceremony for its fist batch of five linkage innovation zones on February 3rd. Kunming National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Qujing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Dali Economic and Technological Development Zone, Pu'er National Green Economy Pilot and Demonstration Zone and Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone between China and Laos were awarded.
Establishing linkage innovation zones is an important measure to help Yunnan Pilot FTZ deepen reform and innovation, release dividends from improved institutions and cooperate with the other opening areas in Yunnan. It will accumulate and strengthen the opening areas’ advantages and integrate their innovation function to facilitate the reform and innovation, accelerating the high-quality development of Yunnan Pilot FTZ.
The industrial layout of the five awarded zones have different focuses. Kunming National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone will focus on biological medicine, new metal materials, new generation of information technology and modern service industry.
Qujing Economic and Technological Development Zone has innovation initiatives for photovoltaic industry, new energy, new materials, facilitative investment in the whole industrial chain of the digital economy, trade liberalization and so on.
Dali Economic and Technological Development Zone will concentrate on green growth as one of its main priorities and rely on key industries like advanced equipment manufacturing, modern logistics industry, plateau modern agriculture, biomedicine and comprehensive health.
Based on its own advantages, National Green Economy Pilot and Demonstration Zone in Pu'er will innovate institutions and mechanisms for green development and thoroughly integrate the innovations in institutions, openness, finance and technology.
With a core mission of setting a new example for international cooperation, the Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone will gather experience and provide a demonstration for China and its neighboring countries to build industrial parks jointly.
