First freight train departed from Anning to Vientiane
An international freight train, loaded with 910 tons of tapes in 35 containers sent by Yunnan Xinfeida Logistics Development Co., Ltd., departed from Taohuacun station in Anning on Dec 17. It would reach Laos by the China-Laos Railway and the cargo on the train would be transported to Thailand by land at last. Meanwhile, the train will carry raw material back to China on the return trip.
The operation of this freight train opens up a safer and more convenient transport corridor for economic and trade exchanges between Kunming and Southeast Asian countries. “It used to take about 9 to 14 days to deliver tapes from Anning to Bangkok by sea. But now it only requires no more than 5 days to arrive in Bangkok, including customs clearance,” said Gao Hongjun, the general manager of Yunnan Xinfeida Logistics Development Co., Ltd.
