Lotus blooms during midsummer in SW China

As midsummer arrives, the lotus flowers in Yunnan province have entered their blooming season, offering tourists some picturesque views.

While visiting the Puzhehei Karst National Wetland Park in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, tourists can enjoy the blue sky, white clouds, distant hills and lotus pools that form an idyllic picture.

Recently, the first red twin lotus flowers on a singular stalk have been found blossoming at the park's lotus pool, attracting lots of photographers and tourists to take photos of the rare scene.

The twin lotus on one stalk is a precious species, which symbolizes fortune, goodness and beauty in traditional Chinese culture.

Covering an area of 666 hectares, the lotus pool in the park provides the best experience to appreciate the beauty for visitors from June to August.
