"De Scheherezade," a ballet production by the Maria Pages Company, is being staged at China's National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) from Dec. 31, 2023 to Jan. 2, 2024.

The work, an organic blend of flamenco art and choreography, delves into women's empathy, using sorority as the foundation of a female voice that rises to express and vindicate the polyhedral reality of women's daily lives.

Founded in 1990, the Maria Pages Company is one of the world's most renowned flamenco dance companies. It has toured many cities around the world and has won prizes at numerous global dance festivals.
