Recently, photographers captured the entire blossoming process of artificially cultivated ottelia acuminata through time-lapse video in Eryuan County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. In the footage, the white petals bloom quietly, like dancing fairies, elegant and graceful.
Ottelia acuminata is a type of submerged plant that requires extremely high water quality-thriving in clear water and withering in polluted water-thus they are regarded as a "touchstone" and "weather vane" of water quality. In recent years, Eryuan County has supported the artificial cultivation of ottelia acuminata as a major green ecological industry. As of now, about 1,500 mu of ottelia acuminata have been planted, achieving a win-win situation for both economic benefits and environmental protection.
