According to the Qilin Water Town Scenic Area management, a new development model has been introduced this year. During the fallow period of lotus ponds, rapeseed flowers were planted, not only enriching the city's spring landscape but also boosting rural tourism. This initiative has invigorated local businesses, including farm-to-table dining, countryside lodgings, and fruit-picking experiences, increasing income opportunities for nearby communities. The vast rapeseed fields have quickly become a major attraction, drawing visitors not just from Qujing but also from neighboring Sichuan and Chongqing. On average, the site welcomes nearly 1,000 tourists per day, and so far, over 100,000 visitors have come to admire the blossoms, bringing renewed vitality to the Water Town.
