Day 1: City Discovery & Cultural Stroll

Morning: Arrive in Kunming and check into a hotel or boutique B&B near Cuihu Park (Green Lake Park) or Nanping Street.You’ll enjoy easy transportation and plenty of options for dining, shopping, and entertainment.

Afternoon: Wander around Cuihu Park and soak in the tranquility of this "jade in the city."Then, visit the nearby Yunnan University, where classic architecture and lush greenery create a perfect spot for photos. You can alsoexplore the Yunnan Military Academy Museum. Its golden walls, bathed in sunlight, seem totellstories of the past.

Tips: Advance reservations are required for both Yunnan University and Yunnan Military Academy Museum.

Evening: Head to Nanqiang Street, which is far more than just a food hub, it’s the ideal place to experience the traditional charm of Kunming’s old town with its lively night views.

Night: Enjoy dinner at Nanqiang Street or Nanping Street,both are lined with restaurants, offering endless choices.

Day 2: Dianchi Lake & Coffee Moments

Morning: Pack a light picnic and head to Haigeng Dam and Dianchi Lake Greenway for a stroll. With the soft glow of sunshine and reeds swaying in the breeze, it's a perfect time to rent a bike andenjoy a ride along the greenway, passing by fishing villages and seven distinctive themed bridges—each representing mountains, water, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasslands, or villages.

Day 3: Blooms & Farewells

Morning: Immerse yourself in Dounan Flower Market, the largest in Asia. Wander through a sea of blossoms where fragrant blooms are sold at "cabbage prices"—so affordable you’ll gladly bring home a beautiful bouquet as the perfect memory of your time in Kunming.

Noon: Enjoy lunch near the flower market or head back downtown.

Afternoon: Depending on your flight or train schedule, stop by Kunming Old Street or Guandu Ancient Town to pick up souvenirs like flower cakes or Pu'er tea,  an experience that will wrap up your journey on a delightful note.

Accommodation & Travel Tips

Cuihu Park/Downtown Area:

Pros – Attractions are clustered here, with many within walking distance. 

Cons – Prices may go up on weekends and holidays.

Zhuanxin Market/South Ring Road Area:

A great value option—Accommodation here is roughly 30% cheaper than downtown for similar quality, plus there are plenty of authentic dining options.

Transport Guide:

Kunming’s public transport is convenient and affordable. Metro fares range from ¥2–8 per trip, and local buses cost just ¥1.2. Ride-hailing services are also widely available and easy to book.

Clothing Tips:

Known as the "Spring City," Kunming has a significant temperaturedrop after sunset (up to 10°C). Pack a light jacket just in case! Sun protection is essential(go for SPF 50+), and don’t forget a raincoat or umbrella for those unexpected passing showers.
