Autumn in Kunming

is cool and moist.

Days are bathed in soft sunshine, while nights carry a gentle chill.

The average temperature hovers around 22°C.

Expect occasional short-lived showers.

There is no bleakness or desolation;

every hue is imbued with poetic essence.

The coming Kunming

will be a spectacle of vibrant colors.

Though the lotus leaves in Cuihu Lake still hold their green hue,

Ginkgo trees eagerly don their golden robes.

As gentle breezes blow,

Ginkgo leaves drift down like a slow cascade.

Wenlin Street is showered with "golden rain,"

where the rich aroma of coffee mingles with the autumn air.

Along Yunnan University's Ginkgo Avenue,

hundreds of ancient ginkgo trees form a golden canopy.

Nestled within this sea of gold,

the century-old institution appears even more venerable.

On both banks of the Daguan River, Celtis tetrandra Roxb. turn to pure gold,

and arch bridges are perfectly reflected in the waters,

creating an utterly breathtaking scene.

In Kunming Botanical Garden, maple forests are ablaze with color, layer upon layer.

Wander through,

and it feels like stepping into an oil painting.

At Jiaoye Park, the maple leaves have turned crimson,

brown Firmiana simplex trees stand alongside

evergreen Conifers,

creating a stunning tapestry of vibrant hues.

At Haigeng Dam,

returning black-headed gulls soar freely in the sky,

forming a moving tableau with the azure lake.

Along the Dianchi Greenway,

rows of golden metasequoia trees stand tall,

and the fading sunset, veiled in Miscanthus sacchariflorus flowers,

leaves one reluctant to depart.

This is Kunming in autumn.

Over the next week,

Kunming will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers.

The highest temperature will be 26°C,

and the lowest will be 16°C.
