The 70th Anniversary of the Discovery of Parity Non-conservation and Frontier Physics Conference will be held in Kunming from October 15 to 17, 2026.

The year 2026 marks the centenary of Mr. Tsung-Dao Lee's birth and the 80th anniversary of the National Southwestern Associated University's demobilization and return north. Seventy years ago, Mr. Tsung-Dao Lee and Mr. Chen-Ning Yang proposed the theory of parity nonconservation, a groundbreaking achievement for which they were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1957.

The conference is co-hosted by the Kunming New Quality Productive Forces Promotion Center, the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Chen-Ning Yang Institute for Advanced Study of Tsinghua University, Yunnan Normal University, and the Shanghai Future Qidian Community, and is co-organized by the Tsung-Dao Lee Center for Sciences and Arts together with relevant Kunming municipal entities.

The conference aims to uphold the scientific spirit of truth-seeking and pragmatism, deepen Shanghai–Yunnan sci-tech collaboration, and empower the development of the Kunming International Complex Science Center.
