Bangladesh's COVID-19 cases reach daily high of 887

The number of new COVID-19 infections in Bangladesh rose by 887 on Sunday, the highest daily increase since March 8.
Senior Health Ministry official Nasima Sultana told an online media briefing that "887 new COVID-19 positive cases and 14 deaths, including 10 men and four women were reported in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh."
She said the number of confirmed infections in the country totaled 14,657 while fatalities stood at 228.
According to the official, 5,738 samples were tested in the last 24 hours in 36 labs across the country.
