The Mohan port is becoming busier and busier. Recently, there are long queues of vehicles from various places waiting to pass through the Mohan Port, including many vehicles going on self-drive tours to Laos. Currently, the port's construction in the China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone is accelerating and improving in quality, and the construction of the intelligent port is basically completed, with the number of daily vehicles entering and leaving the highway port increasing from 400 to 600. From January to February this year, the total import and export freight volume of Mohan Port has reached 1.584 million tons.

The establishment of the Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone and the opening of the China-Laos Railway have made Mohan, a small border town, become the forefront of Yunnan's opening-up. "Currently, combining with the current situation and functional positioning of Mohan, the Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone optimizes the industrial spatial layout of the park, focusing on the development of international trade, processing and manufacturing, modern logistics industries, and coordinating the development of international finance, international tourism, education and health care, and other industries. It forms a spatial layout structure of 'one core, two hearts, three belts, four districts'. There are currently more than 400 registered commercial enterprises and nearly 300 logistics companies for customs declaration in the area," said a person in charge of the Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone Management Committee. Since the opening of the China-Laos Railway, it has sent a total of 8.88 million passengers and 12 million tons of goods. The passenger volume and the freight volume have continued to grow, and the monthly freight volume and the cross-border freight volume have repeatedly hit new highs, with an increase of about 3.5 times and 4 times respectively compared to the first month of its operation, and a total of over 2.33 million tons of cross-border goods have been transported. The role of the China-Laos Railway as the "golden line" for international logistics is increasingly prominent and its radiating effect is continuously strengthening.

To better leverage the advantages of transportation and import&export of the China-Laos Railway, the Mohan Station (Port) has undergone quality improvement and renovation, with 6 new arrival and departure lines, 2 shunting lines, and 1 waiting line added to the Mohan Station I yard, and 1 new arrival and departure line added to the pre-interception work area of the Mohan Station II yard. Electrical renovations will be carried out simultaneously with the rail laying. Meanwhile, the Mohan Station will use new technologies and new basic equipment to empower the intelligent, digital, and automated upgrade of Mohan Freight Yard, creating a digital comprehensive management and control platform covering yard operation control, yard operation monitoring, port clearance, and multimodal transportation. And the yard's automated equipment system will achieve automatic loading&unloading and transshipment of containers. At the same time, Mohan has broken through the information barriers between railways and customs, integrating transportation information between the Mohan station and the Boten station, achieving a circulation of information resources between railways and customs, domestic and international information, and building a yard operation monitoring system with VR&AR + range imaging depth analysis as its core to comprehensively perceive people, vehicles, goods, and events, realizing a new mode of "security control in one-map." Breaking through key technologies such as organizing and coordinating multi-mode transportation and ticketing collaboration, and realizing multi-mode freight transportation with "one map, one table, one ticket."

To fully utilize the logistical advantages brought by the national port, the Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone is vigorously nurturing business activities such as investment, leasing, import and export of goods, transit trade, financial services, R&D and design, product exhibitions and sales, logistics distribution, and freight forwarding. It acts as an agent for customs declaration and inspection, and holds various regional international trade and economic negotiation meetings, transforming from a "passage economy" to an "industrial economy."

Currently, the construction of the China Mohan Port Digital Economic Park project, which is being implemented urgently, will build a comprehensive industrial center integrating Smart Information Center, Product Center, Border Trade Market and Sorting, Logistics Processing, Cold Chain Storage, realizing the organic combination of online information management and offline logistics, processing, warehousing, trading, testing, quarantine, and customs clearance, providing "no transfer, no delay" services.
